The Tagliatela College of Engineering at the University of New Haven (UNH) has been offering degrees in engineering since 1920. The College offers four-year Bachelor of Science (BS) degrees in the following disciplines: chemical; civil; computer; electrical; mechanical engineering; systems; computer science, chemistry and information technology. You've decided to study business. Maybe you have a mind for numbers, want to be a successful entrepreneur, or just like to wear suits. Whatever your reason for studying business, you will soon be faced with the task of choosing a major.



If the thought of choosing your major is overwhelming, read on. Deciding on a major doesn't mean choosing your career, or deciding what you'll do for the rest of your life! However, that doesn't mean that the decision should be taken lightly. You need to thoroughly weigh your options, with the help of some good information and advice. Here's some to get you started:

Majoring in Accounting - Do you love number-crunching? Are you a math whiz? Would you like to learn about auditing and taxation? If so, accounting may be the field you're looking for.

Majoring in Finance - Finance is a challenging field that makes the world economy function. Finance is involved in personal purchases like houses, cars, and even education. It also plays a huge part in starting up businesses, operating governments, and providing capital and investment opportunities.

Majoring in Economics - For some, the word "economics" is scarier than the latest Scream movie. But, if you're interested in studying data, statistics and trends in the economic market, and predicting consumer attitudes and behavior, majoring in economics might be right up your alley.
