The Tagliatela College of Engineering at the University of New Haven (UNH) has been offering degrees in engineering since 1920. The College offers four-year Bachelor of Science (BS) degrees in the following disciplines: chemical; civil; computer; electrical; mechanical engineering; systems; computer science, chemistry and information technology. A business education introduces you to basic concepts of business and teaches you real-world solutions and skills. Most schools allow you to choose from a range of majors or concentrations so that the program fits your interests and career goals. Usually students take one or two years of general business courses before they are required to choose a major. A business education encompasses many fields, including arts and sciences, and establishes a context for further study in many areas.

Business education is continuously revised and updated to keep up with the changing business world. As courses evolve to stay relevant, the following trends are becoming more apparent:

· Increasing internationalization - Cross-cultural skills and the ability to speak other languages are important assets. Opportunities to study and work abroad are growing in number.

· Increased emphasis on practical experience - program features such as internships, fieldwork and co-operative education are becoming more common - even essential.

· Entrepreneurship and small business courses - Approximately 75 per cent of all new jobs created today are in small businesses.

· Increased partnerships - business schools are entering into more partnerships and cooperations with the business community

· Ethics - an emerging focus on social conscience, public responsibility and ethics.

· Interpersonal communication skills - a focus on leadership, teamwork and presentation skills.

· Flexible curriculum - More opportunities exist to study independently, or to attend another school as part of an exchange program.
