	Search Careers: by Workgroup: Refine Career Search

The Career Planner allows you to create your own personal career plan for mapping out your future. You can save this information to update and change throughout the school year as you explore different career paths. Enter and modify any of your Career Planner information and click to save the changes at the bottom of the page.

Interests and Skills

Your interests and skills will play a large role in finding a satisfying career that you will enjoy doing. Make a list of your interests and skills. Here are some questions to get you started:

What do you like to do in your spare time? For example, do you like playing sports, using computers, painting, reading, or perhaps building models? Do you enjoy doing activities alone or with groups of people? What kinds of school subjects are you good at? Do you like organizing events or working with groups of people? Have you developed interests and skills by belonging to any clubs or teams?

Goal Setting

Now use your interests and skills list to see if there is a career or a line of work that interests you. There will likely be all kinds of exciting possibilities, so spend some time researching them. Use the Career Search section and look up various career profiles to find out what each involves.

Once you have found a career that matches your interests and skills you are ready to develop your career goal. Use the following section to list a career that interests you and the requirements for achieving that career.
