Program Overview
Wilkes University (WU) offers comprehensive Bachelor of Science (BS) degree programs, with specializations in applied & engineering sciences, electrical engineering, environmental engineering, engineering management, and mechanical engineering. WU recognizes the importance of experiential learning, and provides engineering majors with the opportunity to apply their skills in specialized laboratories, as well as through cooperative learning environments.

Students majoring in applied & engineering sciences are able to pursue a range of interdisciplinary subjects such as medicine, materials science, nanotechnology, sound recording, artificial intelligence and broadcast communications.

Electrical engineering majors have the opportunity to design, build and test computers, power generation, communications electronics, nanotechnology, robotics and instrumentation. Students benefit from the use of advanced laboratory facilities, including labs specializing in mechatronics, micro-electro mechanical systems, thin film, digital design, communications, and electrical machines.

Graduates of WU's environmental engineering program (housed in the Department of Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences) will be able to design and plan the prevention, management and remediation of environmental problems. Areas of specialization include air and water pollution control, management of water resources, and solid and hazardous waste management.

Engineering management majors have the opportunity to combine elements of technology with management, strategy and entrepreneurship. The program is ideal for students interested in project management, proposal development, and intellectual property management.

Students in mechanical engineering are equipped with skills in mechanical, thermal or micro electro-mechanical systems. In this high-demand field, mechanical engineering graduates have significant flexibility for careers in a variety of industries.
