Since 1902, Franklin has been dedicated to educating adult students, most of whom work full time, raise families, and remain active in their communities while pursuing their education. Franklin prides itself on meeting the needs of this unique student population and making education work for the student.

Franklin's students range in age from 18 to 75 years old. The average age of its undergraduate population is 33, while graduate students average 36 years old. Annually, Franklin serves more than 200 international students representing more than 60 countries. Among the student body, there are students transferring from other institutions, students seeking career advancement, and those who simply want to stay ahead in a changing world.

Franklin offers courses at its Main Campus in downtown Columbus, and at three central Ohio locations in Delaware, Dublin and Westerville. Franklin also offers courses online through its Virtual Campus. More than 250 community colleges across the nation have arrangements with Franklin that allow students to seamlessly transfer their associate degree credits toward a bachelor degree at Franklin by taking courses online without leaving their communities.

Franklin is committed to eliminating barriers to postsecondary education, exemplified by its open undergraduate admissions, multiple start dates, low tuition, universal financial aid, credit transfer programs, and small class sizes. Additionally, the University's Student Services Associates have been nationally recognized.

Franklin has received numerous recognitions for academic excellence. The University is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Franklin's 17-month MBA Program is one of the largest in central Ohio, and can be completed at any of the University's four locations or online through the Virtual Campus. The U.S. Department of Education selected Franklin as one of the original 15 colleges, college systems, or college consortia to participate in a pilot program that permits unlimited distance education students to qualify for financial aid. The U.S. Army selected Franklin as one of the original 29 institutions to participate in the delivery of online education to qualified enlisted soldiers.

Admissions
Applicants who hold a diploma from an accredited high school or general education diploma are eligible for admission to Franklin. To be considered for admission, they must submit an Undergraduate Admission Application and forward an official high school transcript or GED test score report, as well as all official transcripts from previously attended institutions. Applicants must meet with a Student Services Associate. If applicants have yet to submit a high school transcript, they may attend classes on a provisional basis for one trimester. However, such students are neither officially recognized as degree-seeking nor permitted to register for subsequent trimesters until an official high school transcript or official GED score report is submitted.

Support for International Students
Franklin's International Student Services department (ISS) helps international students from more than 60 countries adjust to life in the US through networking with Franklin staff, faculty, and students. The ISS promotes cultural awareness and provides student leadership opportunities. In addition to the ISS, each international student at Franklin is paired with a Student Services Associate (SSA) who serves as the student's primary contact with the University. SSAs advise students on education and career goals, review academic progress, prepare chronological degree plans, assist in scheduling classes, and offer liaison services with other departments at Franklin. International students pay the same tuition as US students, which is among the lowest 10% of all US universities.
