|The Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas offers a doctor of philosophy degree in business administration or economics. Areas of concentration in business administration are accounting, finance, information systems, management, and marketing. General requirements include completion of coursework, a comprehensive examination in an area of emphasis, and the submission and oral defense of an original dissertation. Programs begin in August, are full-time, and require a minimum of four years to complete. PhD programs in business at the University of Arkansas are highly selective and competitive.
